Liban Abdi Abanur

Founder of Somali Social Affairs Group which has several branches in different countries, he works a lot with Somalis and Diversity in diaspora NGOS, managing, guiding and project development. Liban has Leadership, Integration, Diversity, Managing and Project Development. Bachelor of Network engineering from Copenhagen Design and Technology Likewise, Candidate of Erasmus Mundus Master's Programme in Security and Mobile Computing. 5 years of administration experience in both the business promotion and market analyses sectors. Liban has about 3 years’ experience in management, Project Cycle Management, public relations, project management and Trade Mission Preparation Skills.  Among others he has worked with WFP, Idom Ingenieria , Info Murcia, Kontakt Mellem Menesker organization, Danish Redcross  and Spanish Commercial Office with different capacities.  Liban speaks Somali, English, Arabic, Spanish and Some Danish.

Saido Mohamed

 

Saido  Mohamed is one of the most active Woman in Finland, working with Finnish League for Human Rights, She has 15 yrs of experience in working with migrant and young
She is  well known for defending girls' and women's rights.  Saido is a chairwoman of the Finnish Somalia Network and is the only woman serving on the network’s board. She volunteered in several organizations of immigrants in Finland in order to promote children's and young people's matters and acted as a bridge-builder between authorities and immigrants. Due to her experience in voluntary work Saido was awarded “Migrant Woman of The Year in 2011” and she was also nominated the best Finnish Woman 2011 in honor of a list of Hundred best Finnish Woman 2011. Saido is very active politician and has been a candidate in the municipal elections 2012, she is vice representative Helsinki.

Mike Waldron

Mike is a leading specialist in intercultural dialogue and diversity who has worked closely with the Commonwealth Foundation, the British Council and a number of UK government departments. Mike has spent two years as Director of Policy and International Affairs at multi-faith charity Faith Regen Foundation. For the previous ten years, Mike had been with The Prince's Trust where he spent his last four years as UK Head of Diversity Policy.

Dahir Khalid

Dahir Khalid has a master's degree in economics from the business school in Gothenburg.
He graduated in 2007 and has been self-employed since 2009. Today, Dahir is CEO of the company Resurskonsulterna AB who works with recruiting and staffin. They focus on benefits that exist in diversity. They see diversity as a key resource in the community. They have offices in Gothenburg, Stockholm, Malmö and Västerås.

Idil Ibrahim

 

A member of New York’s tight-knit independent film community, Idil followed her passion to become a filmmaker, raised in the United States, and having known many communities across the country and abroad, it became important for her to, as she says: “bridge cultures, communities and perspectives through art.”
In addition to a recent trip to Somalia to cover drought and famine relief for the International Rescue Committee, she served as producer alongside Wanuri Kahiu for the short film Homecoming by director Jim Chuchu, filmed in Kenya as part of the African Metropolis program: 7 directors, 7 cities. She also served as associate producer on the film Laredo, Texas which was an official selection of the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, and had a producing role on the film Trece Anos, which was also selected for the 2009 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. Idil is also a contributing photographer to the site Everyday Africa.

Zahra Hassan

 

Born in Somalia but raised in Holland. Zahra Hassan undertook her studies in chemical engineering at the University of Birmingham. She later moved to Sweden where she completed Master of Science in engineering material science at the royal institute of technology (KTH). Zahra is currently working at Kobolde and Partners and at the same time doing her PhD in raw materials optimization in scrap based steel making KTH.

Khadra Abdi

Originally from Somalia, and grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  She obtained her Master of Public Policy with an emphasis on Human Rights from the University of Minnesota’s Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs.
She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Luther College in Anthropology, and Women and Gender Studies. She has a strong background and interest in international development and community-based organizations. She has worked with diverse communities in Kenya and Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minnesota with a focus on program development and the creation of healthy relations across cultures.

Kadra is currently working to develop  an  onitiative whose mission is to partner with communities to co-create spaces in which all people can express ideas and opinions, identify solutions to concerns, and navigate the policy world to create sustainable change.

Fozia Slone

Graduated from Malmö University Sweden 2009 with a bachelor in International Migration and Ethnic Relations (IMER). She holds a position as Deputy Project Manager at Somali Information and Business Centre (SIBC) and is Co-founder and Managing Director of Woman 2 Woman Diaspora Action Group (W2WDAG). Fozia actively supports and advocates for newcomers/refugees, youth and women. During her studies, Fozia has focused on Somalis integration on the Swedish labour market and identity issues.

Abdullahi Alason

Abdullahi will present, alongside youth living in Kristiansand, Norway, the important of taking your seat in society. He will talk about his experience working for the Ministry for Diversity and Integration in Norway and how you must be a part of the conversation to make the challenges you want to see. The youth in Kristiansand will then tell of how they are engaging their local community and owning the process of city policy

Rahma Hassan

Rahma was born in Abu Dabi, bred in Sweden and has been living in the UK since 2003. She is the founder of United for Somali Students (USS), a voluntary based youth organisations that promotes education and youth empowerment. Rahma has taken the lead in rallying support among all stakeholders including students, volunteers and donors with the aim of building bridges between Somali Youth in the Diaspora and in the Horn. Upon completing courses in Psychology and Sociology at Coventry University, she is now a final year student in Human Rights and History at Kingston University in London. With great passion for grass root community organizing, she joined the Somali Relief and Development forum in 2011 and is now the Executive Manager. She travels frequently to the region and has first-hand experience of what she describes as the ‘contrasting parallels of challenges, hopes and aspirations of young Somalis in the Diaspora and in the region’.

Rakia Bihi

Norwegian-Somali, 20 years old from Oslo, Norway,  Studies Bachelor in the Norwegian Welfare System at University College of Oslo and Akershus. Rakia Works also at Leadership Foundation in Norway with mainly Top 10 and NORSOMBRO. She took HIPP training in Amsterdam in 2012 to become a facilitator. HIPP is a method that you can use in conflict solving and it’s a process that teaches you how to do that.

Timbuktu (Jason Diakité)



Jason Michael Bosak Diakité, known under the stage name Timbuktu, is a Swedish rapper and reggae artist. Timbuktu is a guest of honor for this year's Nordic Somali Youth Summit, he will open the summit with a speech and will be active throughout the day showing his support for the aims of both, the Summit and the Charter for Change.

Ayaan and Idyl Mohallim fashion designers. In 2008, The Mohallim sisters took a bold step together, launching their brand (“Mataano” translates as “twins” in Somali) they took their talent to express the vision and the creation they had to the market. 

Anwar Osman

Anwar Osman runs a law firm that specializes in migration cases, family and social rights. Where he also helps clients prepare themselves for court procedure. He received his education in the University of Stockholm in 2008 with law degree.

Amina Jama

Amina Jama is a PhD candidate in Applied Health Technology with a focus in Health Informatics. Her research focus explores the fit between the sociocultural, the organizational, the technical context and policy factors that enhance or hinder development of sustainable ICT based health communication infrastructures. She is currently working as a Lecturer in Public Health Sciences and Nursing Programs
