After a very successful summit in Oslo in 2012, we kept the momentum and motivation going forward. With a focus on carrying the Chart for Change forward, the summit in 2013 focused on civic engagement and ways to be a proponent of change within one's own community. The 2nd Annual Nordic Somali Youth Summit took place in Stockholm, Sweden on June 7th, 2013 at the Hilton - Slussen.
-The Summit had 140 participants and speakers;
-Youth from Malmö, Gothenburg, the greater Stockholm area, Norway, Finland and Denmark attended;
-Timbuktu, a Swedish rapper and reggae artist, and Sherissa, the Somalian singer residing in Sweden helped put music in focus in this Summit;
In 2014 the Summit will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark !
Workshops are designed to provide youth participants with practical knowledge and skills to address the issues that they wish to address and develop a visible platform. Click here to see the list of workshops for the Nordic Somali Youth Summit 2013.
